La Valle dell'Alcantara

As always the Alcantara Valley represents part and parcel of East Sicily's story. Water meant and still means everything for this region where life flourishes along the banks of the river Alcantara. Sicilian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Arabian, Norman, Swabian, Angioini, Aragonese, Spanish, Savoy, Austrian, Bourbon people and even Garibaldi contributed with their dominations to develop this territory.
